7. Landing Pages

Creating landing pages is all about converting a higher percentage of your visitors into real sales.

A Landing Page is a page that focuses targeted information towards a particular group of users. The major goal of landing pages is to achieve the following five actions:

1. Get a visitor to buy

2. Get a visitor to click (induce sale by fostering with more information)

3. Get a visitor to learn something, which could include posting a comment or giving some sort of feedback.

4. Get a visitor to give permission to follow up - this might include registration of course. (to achieve a targeted result by email, phone, etc.).

5. Get a visitor to "tell a friend".

Landing Pages are widely used in internet marketing campaigns, especially in Email and PPC marketing management. Aside from optimizing for user action, Landing Pages can make it easier to track/analyze visitor actions, and modify as required. So the key aim of a Landing Page is to optimize the user experience when visiting a site, especially for the first time. Most recent research indicates that if landing pages are properly prepared one can double or triple sales conversions!
